10% of our mind is the conscious mind. It analyzes, criticizes, and thinks logically.
90% of our mind is subconscious, which stores all of our life experiences and memories, including how we think, feel, and behave. We consciously repress unpleasant memories and past experiences that form our beliefs, habits, and behaviors.
The subconscious is not limited by logic, space or time and can remember anything from any time. It’s more effective to change how we see or behave by going to the subconscious, as opposed to using the conscious mind. We like to think that everything we decide to do is rational. In fact, it is heavily influenced by the subconscious.
If we all make rational decisions, how could we still fight with problem like addiction of alcohol/smoking/drug/gaming, eating disorder, insomnia, anxiety, depression…?
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation with focused concentration. Hypnosis is like guided meditation with a specific intention. We consciously enter into a relaxed state and dialog directly with the subconscious mind. This allows us to effectively change perspectives, beliefs, and behaviors. When your mind operates at a lower than normal frequency, it becomes hypnotized and open to suggestions.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis in that you control the process. The therapist is only a guide. Unlike TV shows or movies where you think you’re losing consciousness or feeling, the whole process is completely relaxed and you’re aware of what you’re saying and doing.
